Belisce cadets in quest for repeat

Cadets of basketball club Belisce (boys born in 1990 or later) won the Croatian championship title in 2004 in the category of younger cadets in an Open Championship held in Pazin and Porec.

This year they will try to defend the title in the same category.

Their first step will be an attempt to win the title in Slavonija and Baranja region. Championship began on April 30, 2005 and there are 10 teams in competition:

3. Slatina
4. Slavonski Brod
5. Hrvatski Sokol Osijek
6. Mlados Cacinci
7. Slavonija Osijek
8. SK Osijek
9. Vinkovci
10. Nova Gradiska

Two rounds have been played so far.

In the first two rounds Belisce convincingly beat the team of SK Osijek and later a team of Slavonija Osijek.

Management of the club has great expectations from this generation and provides them with very good conditions such as participation in various tournaments in Croatia and abroad and a number of training games against various opponents.

Great work with young players will provide for the senior team’s roster. Coach of the team is Antun Katalenic.

Currently the senior team is trying to qualify for the first league Ozujsko and only one player in its roster is not from Belisce’s younger categories teams. Senior’s roster also includes three junior players.-
